I have always loved casino gaming. I used to go to Las Vegas to play casino card games every year. I live in Michigan, a state that doesn’t allow casino gaming in most places. Although some Indian casinos have opened up in the past decade, they aren’t very good compared to the big ones. If I’m going to put up with the noise, the expense, the hustle and bustle of gaming casinos, I have to have the glitz and glamor too. I want free drinks, low-cost buffets, and chorus girls dancing on stage. Otherwise, I’d rather stay home and play casino card games online.
When they first started offering online Texas hold ‘em poker, I was in heaven. You see, I am a pretty responsible gambler in most respects. I know how to ration my money, I can make intelligent plays, and I usually end up ahead of the game, not behind. It is the other aspects of casino gaming that cause me to lose money. Buying drinks, playing slots, going to shows that I don’t really need to see, and in general wasting my money are what cause my Las Vegas trips to cost so much dough! Now that I could play casino games at home, I would have the chance to come out ahead every single time!
When the US government took action to cut down on casino computer games, I was heartbroken. It seemed so unfair. Of course I understood that casino gaming violated local statutes, but who really cares? People play friendly games of poker all the time, and no one comes in to bust them up. Doesn’t it makes a lot more sense for the government to quietly look the other way? Why stop people from enjoying such a harmless activity?
Still, even though I was angry to no longer be able to go to casino gaming Internet sites, it was probably good for me. Now that I had become used to the convenience of playing games online, I wasn’t really tempted by the casinos anymore. This meant that there was nothing for me to do but give up gambling entirely. No more wasteful trips to Las Vegas, no more sitting at home in front of the computer for hours. All of that was over for me and I finally started to pick up some useful habits. I still miss the games from time to time, but less and less every day.
